Shipping policy
1. Items Subject to Shipping
This policy applies to the physical shipping of Zen Name's LEGACY Edition (hanging scroll).
BASIC and PREMIUM plans, as well as Donations, are delivered digitally; no physical shipping is involved. For digital delivery, please refer to our Refund & Cancellation Policy and Terms of Service.
2. Shipping Destinations
We currently ship to the following countries and regions:
- Japan
- United Kingdom
- All 27 European Union (EU) member states
- United States / Canada
- Australia / New Zealand
- Mexico / Brazil / Argentina
If you wish to receive delivery to a region not listed above, please contact us at zenname@tokuzoji.or.jp prior to placing your order. We will respond to inquiries on a case-by-case basis.
3. Shipping Carriers
Depending on the delivery destination, we use the following carriers:
- Within Japan: Yamato Transport
- Europe (EU member states and the United Kingdom): DHL
- North America (United States and Canada): DHL or FedEx
- Oceania (Australia and New Zealand): FedEx
- Latin America (Mexico, Brazil, Argentina): DHL
All shipments include tracking and insurance.
4. Shipping Fees
Shipping fees for the LEGACY Edition vary depending on the delivery region and shipping method.
Shipping fees are calculated automatically at checkout based on your delivery destination and chosen shipping method, and are paid together with the product price. Please refer to the Legal Notice (Specified Commercial Transactions Act) for further details.

5. Delivery Timeline
After approval of the naming preview, the hanging scroll will be calligraphed, mounted, and packaged, and dispatched as soon as preparation is complete.
Estimated delivery times after dispatch are as follows:
- Within Japan: 1–3 business days
- Europe (EU and United Kingdom): 3–6 business days
- North America (United States and Canada): 3–6 business days
- Oceania: 5–7 business days
- Latin America: 5–7 business days
The above timelines are estimates only and are not guaranteed. Actual delivery may vary depending on carrier conditions, weather, force majeure, or customs procedures.
6. Customs Duties, Import Taxes, and VAT
For international shipments, all customs duties, import taxes, and value-added tax (VAT) incurred in the destination country are the responsibility of the purchaser.
The amount and collection method of these taxes vary by country. They may be billed directly by the shipping carrier or local customs authority. Please confirm the tax regulations in your country of residence in advance.
7. Transfer of Title and Risk
Title and risk of loss for the hanging scroll transfer to the customer upon handover to the shipping carrier.
We are not responsible for delays caused by the shipping carrier, customs procedures, or force majeure events (such as natural disasters, accidents, or changes in social conditions).
8. Damage or Defects During Shipping
In cases of damage, soiling, or receipt of an incorrect item during shipping, we will arrange for exchange or refund.
Please contact us at zenname@tokuzoji.or.jp within 7 days of delivery, attaching photographs of the damaged areas. Upon verification, we will arrange exchange or refund.
As a general rule, claims of damage or defects made more than 7 days after delivery cannot be accommodated. Please confirm the condition of your delivery promptly.
9. Incorrect or Changed Shipping Address
Shipments are made to the delivery address provided at the time of order. If there is any error or change required, please contact us at zenname@tokuzoji.or.jp prior to dispatch.
Address changes after dispatch depend on the discretion of the shipping carrier. Any additional fees incurred for forwarding or redelivery due to an incorrect address are the responsibility of the purchaser.
10. Refusal of Delivery and Returns Due to Extended Absence
If the item is returned to us due to expiration of the carrier's storage period or refusal of delivery, the shipping fee for re-delivery is the responsibility of the purchaser.
Due to the one-of-a-kind nature of the hanging scroll, order cancellations and refunds cannot be accepted under any circumstances. Please be aware of this in advance.
